Sarah DeVries, O.D.
Dr. Sarah DeVries is a board-certified optometrist based in Chicago and Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, specializing in ocular disease. She earned her Bachelor of Science in pre-professional biomedical sciences from Grand Valley State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry, graduating with Highest Distinction. Dr. DeVries then completed a residency in ocular disease at the Illinois College of Optometry, where she gained extensive experience in diagnosing and managing complex ocular conditions.
Her clinical training includes externships at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Caledonia Vision Center, and Cherry Health. During these externships, she gained valuable experience in pediatrics, contact lenses, ocular disease, and working with underserved communities facing ocular diseases. While completing her Optometry degree, she participated in a Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity International (VOSH) trip to Dominica, providing essential eye care services to patients who otherwise lacked access to care.
Dr. DeVries is known for her attention to detail and dedication to delivering the highest quality of care. She takes pride in educating her patients, ensuring they feel informed and confident in their treatment plans. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, reading, exploring Chicago, and traveling.
